Our best-selling enterprise solution SURE! AR/ AP/ DMS recently got an enhancement. It's an optional upgrade that will be useful to firms dealing in perishable goods.

SURE! AR/ AP/ DMS now captures lot numbers and expiry dates in both purchase and sale transactions.

With this feature, both purchase and sale documents can now reflect the lot numbers and expiry dates of the merchandise. Who would benefit from this feature? Retail and wholesale firms dealing in groceries, pharmaceuticals, personal care items, food, and bulk chemicals.

This explicit information forces receiving dock staff to closely inspect expiry dates while taking supplier deliveries, and thus reject deliveries of too-close-to-expiry merchandise. Thus it will minimize the firm's exposure to expired - or almost-expired - and therefore unsaleable merchandise.

The lot number feature can also help verify whether a customer return in fact came from the seller's inventory to begin with. This helps the business fend off potential customer fraud.
